A classic beef lasagne layered with rich meat sauce, creamy white sauce, and melted cheese, served with crispy garlic bread. A comforting family favourite that never disappoints.



 

Ingredients

For the Beef Lasagne

  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 carrot, finely diced
  • 1 celery stick, finely diced
  • 2 tbsp tomato purรฉe
  • 400g chopped tomatoes
  • 200ml beef stock
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Lasagne sheets

For the White Sauce

  • 50g butter
  • 50g plain flour
  • 600ml milk
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

To Assemble

  • 150g grated mozzarella or cheddar
  • 50g grated parmesan

For the Garlic Bread

  • 1 baguette
  • 75g butter, softened
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Make the Meat Sauce

    Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.

    Add the onion, carrot, and celery and cook until soft.

    Stir in the garlic and cook briefly.

    Add the beef mince and cook until browned.

    Stir in the tomato purรฉe, chopped tomatoes, stock, and oregano.

    Season and simmer for 25โ€“30 minutes until rich.

Prepare the White Sauce
