Ingredients

For the Burger Beef

  • 500g beef mince (10โ€“15% fat works best)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic granules
  • 1 tsp onion granules
  • Salt & black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the Bowl Base

  • 4 cups shredded iceberg or romaine lettuce
  • 200g cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 small red onion, finely sliced
  • 4 dill pickles, sliced
  • 100g grated mature cheddar or American-style cheese

For the Burger Sauce

  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped gherkins or relish
  • 1 tsp white wine vinegar
  • Pinch of sugar (optional, to balance)

Optional Extras

  • Crispy bacon pieces
  • Fries or sweet potato fries (on the side or mixed in)
  • Jalapeรฑos for heat
  • Sesame seeds for that classic burger nod
