A hearty plate loaded with sizzling sausages, crispy bacon, fried eggs, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, baked beans, and toast โ€” the classic British breakfast that never disappoints.



 

Ingredients

  • 4 pork sausages
  • 4 rashers back bacon
  • 200g baked beans
  • 2 eggs
  • 150g button mushrooms, halved
  • 2 tomatoes, halved
  • 2 slices black pudding (optional)
  • 2 slices bread (for toast or fried bread)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil or butter
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

Optional Extras

  • Hash browns
  • Bubble & squeak
  • A mug of builderโ€™s tea

Start the Sausages & Bacon

    Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large frying pan.

  2. Step 2

    Cook sausages on medium heat for 12โ€“15 minutes, turning often.

  3. Step 3

    Add bacon rashers to the pan for the last 5โ€“6 minutes, until crisp.

Cook the Mushrooms & Tomatoes

    In a second pan, heat 1 tsp oil or butter.

    Sautรฉ mushrooms for 5 minutes until golden.

    Place tomato halves cut-side down in the same pan, cook for 3โ€“4 minutes.
