Juicy meatballs baked in a rich tomato sauce alongside crispy garlic bread and melted cheese. A comforting traybake perfect for sharing and minimal washing up.



 

Ingredients

For the Meatballs

  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 small onion, finely grated
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 50g breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Traybake

  • 400g chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato purée
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 baguette, sliced
  • 75g butter, softened
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 150g grated mozzarella or cheddar

Make the Meatballs

    Combine the beef mince, grated onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, oregano, salt, and pepper in a bowl.

    Roll into evenly sized meatballs.

Prepare the Tray

    Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan).

    Mix the chopped tomatoes, tomato purée, and dried basil in a large roasting tray.

    Nestle the meatballs into the sauce.

Add Garlic Bread
