A rich and comforting Italian-inspired classic made with slow-simmered beef mince in a tomato-based sauce, served over spaghetti. A dependable family favourite full of deep flavour.



 

Ingredients

For the Bolognese Sauce

  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 carrot, finely diced
  • 1 celery stick, finely diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp tomato purรฉe
  • 400g chopped tomatoes
  • 200ml beef stock
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

To Serve

  • 400g spaghetti
  • Grated parmesan
  • Fresh basil or parsley (optional)

Build the Base

    Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.

    Add the onion, carrot, and celery and cook until soft.

Brown the Beef

Simmer the Sauce
