A quick and satisfying Chinese-style beef fried rice made with tender beef strips, fluffy rice, vegetables, and a savoury soy-based sauce. Perfect for a fast fakeaway at home.



 

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 400g beef steak (sirloin or rump), thinly sliced
  • 300g cooked rice (preferably cold)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 100g frozen peas
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

To Finish

  • Spring onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Cook the Beef

    Heat 1 tbsp of the vegetable oil in a wok or large frying pan over high heat.

    Add the beef and stir-fry for 2โ€“3 minutes until just cooked.

  3. Step 4

    Remove and set aside.

Build the Base

    Add the remaining oil to the pan.

    Add the onion and cook until softened.

    Stir in the garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.

Egg & Rice

    Pour in the beaten eggs and scramble lightly.

    Add the cooked rice and stir-fry for 3โ€“4 minutes until hot and separated.
